Glastonbury 2010

So Glastonbury has been and gone for another year!! U2 never showed (good!) and Gorillaz stepped up to the plate and blew the crowd away with a massive set that featured special guest after special guest. From Shaun Ryder daring us to “DARE” to a recording of Dennis Hopper’s reading of Fire Coming out of the Monkey’s Head with clips of Easy Rider playing on the giant screen as Billy and Captain America rode across America… Don’t forget about Snoop Dog and Lou Reed either!!

Other highlights for me were Faithless and Dizzee Rascal bringing some beats to a guitar-dominated festival and the fantastic Stevie Wonder… this guys record sales have gone through the roof since his Sunday night headline slot!

On the John Peel Stage Ellie Goulding and Marina & The Diamonds brought some glossy Pop hits to the fields of Somerset.

Highlights from The Other Stage included the ever-fantastic The Flaming Lips, fronted by the energetic Wayne Coyne…a feast of balloons, psychedelic pop tunes and confetti.

Before you know it though it’s all over, the stages are packed away and the cows come home… literally!

Roll on next year.
