Glastonbury 2010

So Glastonbury has been and gone for another year!! U2 never showed (good!) and Gorillaz stepped up to the plate and blew the crowd away with a massive set that featured special guest after special guest. From Shaun Ryder daring us to “DARE” to a recording of Dennis Hopper’s reading of Fire Coming out of the Monkey’s Head with clips of Easy Rider playing on the giant screen as Billy and Captain America rode across America… Don’t forget about Snoop Dog and Lou Reed either!!

Other highlights for me were Faithless and Dizzee Rascal bringing some beats to a guitar-dominated festival and the fantastic Stevie Wonder… this guys record sales have gone through the roof since his Sunday night headline slot!

On the John Peel Stage Ellie Goulding and Marina & The Diamonds brought some glossy Pop hits to the fields of Somerset.

Highlights from The Other Stage included the ever-fantastic The Flaming Lips, fronted by the energetic Wayne Coyne…a feast of balloons, psychedelic pop tunes and confetti.

Before you know it though it’s all over, the stages are packed away and the cows come home… literally!

Roll on next year.

Jay-Z does Wonderwall & 99 Problems – Glastonbury UK 2008

phoneshopuk asked:

www.phoneshopuk.biz Jay-Z answered his critics, notably Oasis’s Noel Gallagher at Glastonbury. Striding on stage with a guitar slung over his shoulder, he led the crowd in a rendition of Oasis’s “Wonderwall”, smiling throughout, and with wife Beyonce Knowles in attendance, his set included songs such as “99 Problems”. In a radical departure from the indie rock and guitar bands commonly associated with Glastonbury, the festival recruited the New Yorker in a bid to reach out to a younger …

Radiohead – Idioteque [Glastonbury 2003]

Zedetnik asked:

Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing “Idioteque”. Download the music from this performance following the link: rapidshare.com PASSWORD:marana-sonica By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and …
